In a vacuum, the game does not qualify as "good," let alone "great." Yet, its legacy has not only endured for decades but arguably grows more positive with each passing year.Valve's Steam Deck has brought an exciting shake-up to the PC gaming space. Postal 2 is silly, ugly by even 2003 standards, and fairly janky. Eventually, things go off the rails in a big way. Depending on someone's preference, they can opt to not go postal alternatively, they can (and really should) destroy everything. Living out a few days in the Postal Dude's shoes, players get to explore a small, active, and rude town while completing a few ordinary tasks. While the other entries are polarizing even among fans of the series, Postal 2 is generally regarded as Running with Scissors' magnum opus, and the game is still as fun nowadays as it was back in 2003. Postal has a storied and controversial history, in the sense the franchise has produced its share of cult classics and disappointments. The campaign is designed around Max upgrading his car in pursuit of the ultimate mobile killing machine, so the vehicular combat gradually improves as the story progresses. Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Mad Max revolves around vehicular combat, and it is incredibly entertaining. The game drops players in an immaculately recreated version of the eponymous school, while also allowing them to travel to, for example, Hogsmeade. Putting aside the quality of the side quests or storytelling, Hogwarts Legacy's greatest achievement is its immersive presentation. Players get to attend Hogwarts and write their own legends (even though they have to stick to a main questline). Freed from the shackles of retelling Harry's story, Hogwarts Legacy crafts its own place in the franchise's history by taking place a century prior to the novels. Harry Potter has been a household name for over two decades, and while the franchise has spawned a couple of memorable games, Avalanche's title is the first to truly take advantage of the universe's overall potential.
